Hi I’m Steven Turner, and thanks for stopping by my little corner of the web. A few years ago, I moved to Bangladesh’s quieter riverside town of Kushtia, Khulna Division, leaving behind a more fast-paced life. Prior to that relocation I lived and worked in London for several years, where I earned my bachelor’s degree in Business & Media from the University of Westminster.
In London I spent a good chunk of my twenties working for a mid-sized beauty-products distributor and later as a retail operations manager for a high-end salon chain. So yes while I’ve traded in glossy magazine layouts and busy city windows for a more relaxed pace of life by the Padma and the Barguna ports, the sense of spotting good products and understanding what makes them tick never left me.

How This Blog Came to Be
In early 2025 I realized that over the years I had accumulated hundreds of product-experiences everything from hair-care brands (thanks to the salon world) to kitchen gadgets, wellness gear, even travel accessories. What I noticed is that many reviews online felt either too polished (marketing speak) or too casual (no real depth).
And since I had moved here to Bangladesh, with a different cost structure and supply-chain quirks than Europe or North America, I wanted to bring a more practical, no-fluff perspective: “Does it really perform? Is it worth the price in a local/global context? What did I find after using it for six weeks?”
And so, in 2025 I launched this blog under the domain maximesalon.com. While the name carries a nod to my earlier salon-industry background (it evokes “maximum quality” and “salon-style insight”), the site’s purpose is broader: honest product reviews, real-world usage stories, and buying advice that you can trust—especially if you’re somewhere in South Asia or shipping internationally.
My Approach to Reviews
I believe in showing you what works and what doesn’t. When I test a product whether it’s premium hair-care, a kitchen mixer, a tech gadget, or something more lifestyle-oriented I use it as I would at home. I note how it performs over time, what the wear or tear looks like, how support or service is (when applicable), and how realistic the claims are vis-à-vis what most people experience. I don’t accept “free gifts” in a way that compromises honesty if I say I like something, it’s because I genuinely found value in it. I aim to keep the tone warm and human not patronising, not overly technical. If I mention budget alternatives, I’ll explain why they’re valid in certain circumstances.
Because I live here in Kushtia, I also take into account shipping/availability issues, regional pricing discrepancies, and how global-brands adapt (or don’t) to local markets. I aim to provide clarity for readers who might be in South Asia, Southeast Asia, or any region where market conditions differ from the US/UK.
What You’ll Find Here
On this site you’ll find product reviews of all kinds: everyday essentials, specialty gear, beauty and grooming tools (inspired by my salon-industry roots), home & kitchen tech, and sometimes lifestyle upgrades I’m trying out myself. Each article is built around my personal experience why I bought it, how I used it, what I liked, what I didn’t like, and whom I believe the product is really geared toward.
I hope that by sharing my insights you’ll feel more confident making buying decisions. Whether you’re looking for something high-end you’ll keep for years, or a budget smart buy that still makes sense, I’ll try to give you the kind of detail I wish I had when I was first navigating product choices back in London or during my first years of international moves.
Let’s Connect
If you ever have a product you’re curious about or want me to test something you’re weighing, just drop me a note through the contact form. I’m always open to suggestions and I genuinely appreciate the community of readers here. Thanks again for reading, and I hope the reviews you find here at maximesalon.com help you as much as I’ve enjoyed writing them.
Warm regards,
Steven Turner
