Medicines for Humanity is dedicated to saving children’s lives in impoverished communities worldwide. We help local healthcare partners to implement effective health initiatives for children and to become self-sustaining organizations.

In May 2008 I traveled to Guatemala. It was one of the highlights of my year and I want to share my incredible four-day journey to Central America with you. When I signed on to take the trip, all I really knew was that for four days I would be traveling to Esquipulas, Guatemala.

That is where Medicines for Humanity has established 25 village-based pharmacies, trained pharmacy aides, and provided access to essential medicines to the people living in the rural villages. I knew that I would be travelling with six others and we would be staying in a monastery. And there in the land of coffee, we would meet extraordinary people. Prior to the trip I had five vaccination shots. I shopped at REI to pick up some serious climbing gear and equipment, waterproof hiking boots, and thin, long clothes to protect me from mosquitoes, yet appropriate for hot steamy weather... Maxime Event with Mark Mincolla Wednesday May 20, 2009

Maxime Salon hosted a special night with Dr. Mark Mincolla to teach proper nutrition in everyday meals. We set-up an entire kitchen and watched Mark cook several delicious meals specifically designed for health & beauty. Thanks to all we raised $2500 for Medicines for Humanities. Maxime Gives Back

Friday May 2, 2008 Maxime hosted a Men's Cut-a-thon to benefit the Hingham Education Foundation. We raised over $1,500 for the purchase of Smart Boards, interactive white boards for Hingham classrooms.
